Launch Offer — Preorder Terms & Conditions

Effective Date: 1 July 2026

These Launch Offer Terms & Conditions ("Terms") apply to all customers who purchase a discounted Lesson Assist subscription before the official public launch of the Lesson Assist platform.

These Terms should be read together with the Lesson Assist Terms & Conditions, Privacy Policy and Refund & Cancellation Policy. By completing your purchase, you acknowledge that you have read and agree to all of these documents.

1. Purpose

Lesson Assist is offering parents and legal guardians the opportunity to secure discounted subscription pricing before the official public launch of the platform.

This Launch Offer rewards early supporters by providing access to Lesson Assist at a reduced promotional price for the remainder of the 2026 academic year.

2. About Lesson Assist

Lesson Assist is a structured academic learning platform designed to help learners improve their understanding, mastery and long term retention of CAPS aligned concepts through:

  • CAPS aligned learning content;
  • structured weekly study plans;
  • concept-level mastery assessments;
  • retention-based revision;
  • parent progress reporting; and
  • measurable academic visibility.

Lesson Assist supports and reinforces classroom learning. It is not a replacement for school-based teaching or private tutoring and does not guarantee academic outcomes.

Lesson Assist subscriptions are purchased by parents or legal guardians for the benefit of individual learners. Each enrolled learner receives their own secure learner account linked to a Parent Portal for academic reporting and progress monitoring.

3. Eligibility

The Launch Offer is available only to:

  • parents or legal guardians purchasing access for a learner;
  • learners enrolled in the grades and subjects supported at launch;
  • customers who successfully complete payment before the promotional period closes.

Lesson Assist reserves the right to withdraw, amend or extend this Launch Offer at any time prior to launch.

4. Launch Offer

During the Launch Offer period, customers receive:

  • discounted promotional pricing;
  • access from the official launch date;
  • access until the end of the 2026 academic year;
  • platform improvements and product updates released during the subscription period.

The subscription price displayed at checkout forms part of the purchase agreement.

5. Official Launch

The official launch date is currently planned for: 21 July 2026.

Lesson Assist may reasonably postpone the launch if necessary to ensure platform quality, security, operational readiness or compliance. Should the launch date change materially, customers will be notified using the contact information provided during registration.

6. Activation of Access

Platform access will commence once:

  • the platform has officially launched;
  • payment has been successfully received; and
  • the learner account associated with the subscription has been activated.

Access is personal to the enrolled learner and may not be transferred or shared.

7. Accounts and Additional Learners

Each Lesson Assist subscription provides access for one (1) learner account only.

Upon successful payment, the parent or legal guardian will receive access to a secure Parent Portal through which they may create and manage the learner account associated with that subscription, including setting up the learner's login credentials.

Where a parent or legal guardian wishes to enrol more than one child, a separate paid subscription must be purchased for each additional learner.

Each additional subscription:

  • is charged at the prevailing per-learner subscription price applicable at the time of purchase;
  • provides access for one additional learner only; and
  • creates a separate learner profile with its own academic progress, assessment history, mastery records, retention history and parent reports.

Where supported by the platform, multiple learner accounts may be managed from a single Parent Portal.

Learner accounts are personal to the enrolled learner and may not be shared, transferred, duplicated or used by more than one learner.

Parents and legal guardians remain responsible for:

  • creating and managing each learner account;
  • ensuring learner information remains accurate;
  • safeguarding login credentials;
  • supervising learner use where appropriate; and
  • ensuring that each learner uses only their assigned learner account.

8. What is Included

Each subscription includes access only to the grades, subjects and platform features specifically advertised as part of the Launch Offer. Additional grades, subjects, premium features or services introduced after launch may require separate subscriptions or additional fees.

9. Promotional Pricing

The Launch Offer is a limited-time promotional campaign. The promotional price:

  • applies only to the initial subscription purchased during the Launch Offer period;
  • cannot be transferred to another person;
  • cannot be redeemed for cash;
  • cannot be retrospectively applied to previous purchases; and
  • cannot be combined with other promotions unless expressly stated.

Future subscription pricing may differ from the Launch Offer pricing.

10. Payment

Payment must be made in full using one of the approved payment methods during checkout.

Each paid subscription reserves access for one learner account. No learner account will be created until payment has been successfully received.

11. Cancellation Before Launch

Customers may cancel their Launch Offer subscription within 14 calendar days of purchase provided:

  • the platform has not yet officially launched; and
  • the learner account has not yet been activated.

Where these conditions are met, Lesson Assist will provide a full refund using the original payment method.

12. Cancellation After Launch

Once the platform has officially launched, or the learner account associated with the subscription has been activated, the subscription becomes an active Lesson Assist subscription.

Any cancellation or refund request will thereafter be governed by the Lesson Assist Refund & Cancellation Policy.

13. Platform Availability

Lesson Assist will use reasonable efforts to provide reliable platform availability. Occasional interruptions may occur due to:

  • scheduled maintenance;
  • software upgrades;
  • security updates;
  • infrastructure maintenance;
  • internet service disruptions; or
  • circumstances beyond Lesson Assist's reasonable control.

Temporary interruptions do not entitle customers to refunds or credits.

14. Supported Devices

The platform is designed for use on modern web browsers, smartphones, tablets and supported desktop browsers. Certain functionality may vary depending on device capabilities, operating systems or internet connectivity.

15. Learner Responsibilities

Each learner agrees to:

  • complete lessons honestly;
  • participate in assessments independently;
  • follow recommended study plans;
  • use the platform responsibly;
  • protect their login credentials; and
  • comply with these Terms.

Academic improvement depends significantly on learner participation, engagement and effort.

16. Parent and Guardian Responsibilities

Parents and legal guardians are responsible for:

  • providing accurate registration information;
  • creating and managing learner accounts linked to their subscriptions;
  • maintaining accurate learner information;
  • monitoring learner participation where appropriate;
  • safeguarding account credentials;
  • ensuring subscription fees remain current; and
  • ensuring that learner accounts are not shared or misused.

17. Academic Outcomes

Lesson Assist is designed to improve learning through structured academic support and reinforcement. However, Lesson Assist does not guarantee:

  • improved examination results;
  • promotion to the next grade;
  • university admission;
  • bursaries or scholarships;
  • admission to specific schools; or
  • any particular percentage improvement.

Individual results depend on numerous factors outside Lesson Assist's control, including learner effort, attendance, school teaching, prior knowledge, learning ability and study habits.

18. Changes Before Launch

Prior to the official launch, Lesson Assist may make reasonable improvements to platform functionality, lesson sequencing, assessment design, reporting dashboards, user interface, navigation and platform features. Such improvements form part of normal product development and do not constitute a material reduction in the services offered.

19. Privacy

Lesson Assist processes parent and learner information in accordance with its Privacy Policy and applicable South African data protection legislation, including the Protection of Personal Information Act, 2013 ("POPIA").

Parents or legal guardians warrant that they have the legal authority to provide the personal information of the enrolled learner and consent to such processing where required.

20. Intellectual Property

All Lesson Assist content, including videos, assessments, lesson materials, graphics, reports, software, platform design, trademarks and intellectual property, remain the exclusive property of Lesson Assist or its licensors.

Customers may not reproduce content; record or distribute videos; copy assessments; share learner accounts; reverse engineer the platform; commercially exploit any platform content; or permit unauthorised third parties to access subscription content.

21. Suspension or Termination

Lesson Assist may suspend or terminate access where:

  • payment is reversed or successfully disputed without lawful justification;
  • a learner account is used by more than one learner;
  • subscriptions are used contrary to these Terms;
  • fraudulent activity is suspected;
  • login credentials are deliberately shared with unauthorised persons; or
  • these Terms are materially breached.

Suspension or termination under this clause does not automatically entitle the customer to a refund.

22. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Lesson Assist shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential or special loss or damage arising from the use of, or inability to use, the platform.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits any liability which may not lawfully be excluded under South African law.

23. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa. Any dispute arising from these Terms shall be subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of South Africa.
